How many years have you been a freelance illustrator?
I worked part time as an illustrator for five years, and since I’ve gone full time another three.
How reliable are you?
Very! Prior to bagging my first work as an artist, I spent several years managing record stores and the like. It made me very aware of the pressures people are under to meet their agendas and how much of a strain it is when someone you’re depending on drops the ball.
Why do you keep a blog?
Like art in general, it’s a way of communicating your point of view and sensibility to others. Where else will I blather on about Francois Hardy or old Colonel Bleep cartoons?
In a commercial sense what can your work be applied too?
I can do realistic slice of life or cartoony and conceptual. My specialty tends to be humor tinged with pop culture reference points.

Who are your top clients?
Simon & Schuster, the rock band Phish, Krames patient education, WFMU, Seven Day and a host of others.
Apart from illustration what other skills do you have?
Overlapping with my experience as an illustrator, I spent 8 years as a full time character animator for an educational software company. I’ve also done various comics for print and the web, including my critically lauded Acid Keg web comic.
What’s your favourite sandwich filling?
Roast beef and Swiss when it rears it’s head.

I am looking for an illustrator to do farside style comics of about 50-100 illustrations for a new book to be published in a few months. I will also need a cover and back as well.
What are your rates and is this something that you could do. I saw a picture of woman sitting at a computer desk with a headset on. This is the type of style that I like too as well. This book is a new concept that I do not think has ever been done and it should be very successful.
Thanks and hope to hear back from you soon.
